LG Builds Largest Research Complex in South Korea

LG has planned to invest 4 trillion won (US$3.8 billion; US$1 = 1061.57 won) in the construction of its largest R&D complex in Seoul, Korea, reported the Korea Herald on October 23. The so-called LG Science Park will create around 90,000 job opportunities and 24 trillion won (US$22.7 billion) worth of production when it opens in 2020. Ten LG affiliates, including LG Electronics, LG Display, LG Uplus, and LG CNS are going to move in when the first phase of the construction is completed in 2017, followed by LG Chem, LG Hausys, LG Household & Health Care, LG Life Sciences, and SERVEONE by 2020.
